✧ Walking with the funeral

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْحٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ:
مَا مِنْ جِنَازَةٍ إِلَّا تُنَاشِدُ حَمَلَتَهَا، إِنْ كَانَتْ مُؤْمِنَةً وَاللهُ رَاضٍ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللهِ إِلَّا أَسْرَعْتُمُونِي، وَإِنْ كَانَتْ كَافِرَةً بِاللهِ وَاللهُ عَلَيْهَا سَاخِطٌ قَالَتْ: أَنْشُدُكُمْ بِاللهِ إِلَّا رَجَعْتُمْ بِي، فَمَا مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُهُ إِلَّا الثَّقَلَيْنِ، فَلَوْ أَنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ سَمِعَهُ خَرَعَ وَجَزِعَ، الْخَرَعُ يَعْنِي الضَّعْفَ وَالْهَيْبَةَ
Translation
✧ There is no funeral bier but it appeals to its bearers: if it was a believer and Allah is pleased with it, it says, 'I adjure you by Allah to hasten me along.' And if it was a disbeliever in Allah and Allah is wrathful with it, it says, 'I adjure you by Allah to turn back with me.' There is nothing but hears it except the two heavy ones (humans and jinn). Were a human to hear it, he would be terrified and alarmed. Al-kharaʿ means weakness and fear.
