عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: قَوْلُهُ: " اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكُمْ ؟ " قَالَ: مُحْدَثَةٌ، وَبَلَغَنِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِذِي الْبِجَادَيْنِ: اسْتَغْفِرُوا لَهُ غَفَرَ اللهُ لَكُمْ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: Regarding the saying, 'Seek forgiveness for him, may Allah forgive you'? He said: It is an innovation. And it reached me that the Prophet ﷺ said regarding Dhū al-Bijādayn: Seek forgiveness for him, may Allah forgive you.
