✧ The shroud

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْجَزَرِيِّ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
قُتِلَ حَمْزَةُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ، وَقُتِلَ مَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَجَاءَتْ صَفِيَّةُ ابْنَةُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بِثَوْبَيْنِ لِتُكَفِّنَ بِهِمَا حَمْزَةَ، فَلَمْ يَكُنْ لِلْأَنْصَارِيِّ كَفَنٌ، فَأَسْهَمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ الثَّوْبَيْنِ، ثُمَّ كَفَّنَ كُلَّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا فِي ثَوْبٍ
Translation
✧ Hamzah was killed on the day of Uhud, and a man from the Ansar was killed with him. Safiyyah bt. Abd al-Muttalib came with two garments to shroud Hamzah in them, but there was no shroud for the Ansari. The Prophet ﷺ drew lots between the two garments, then each of them was shrouded in one garment.
