أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُسْدِلُ طَرَفَ الْعِمَامَةِ عَلَى وَجْهِ الْمَيِّتِ، ثُمَّ يَلُفُّ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ مِنْ تَحْتِ الذَّقْنِ، ثُمَّ يَلْوِيهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ يُسْدِلُ الطَّرَفَ الْآخَرَ أَيْضًا عَلَى وَجْهِهِ "، قُلْنَا لِعَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ: وَكَيْفَ ؟ قَالَ: أَرَانَا مَعْمَرٌ هَكَذَا، يَضَعُ طَرَفَ الْعِمَامَةِ يُسْدِلُهَا عَلَى وَجْهِهِ، ثُمَّ يَرُدُّ الَّذِي يُسْدِلُ عَلَى الْوَجْهِ إِلَى الْحَلْقِ، ثُمَّ يَضَعُ الْعِمَامَةَ عَلَى الَّذِي يُسْدِلُ عَلَى الْوَجْهِ يَرُدُّ تَحْتَ الذَّقْنِ، ثُمَّ يَلْوِيهَا عَلَى رَأْسِهِ، ثُمَّ يُعِيدُ طَرَفَ الْعِمَامَةِ عَلَى جَبْهَتِهِ، ثُمَّ يُسْدِلُ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْهَا عَلَى وَجْهِهِ أَيْضًا
Translation
✧ Ibn Umar would let one end of the turban hang over the face of the deceased, then wrap it around his head from under the chin, then twist it around his head, then let the other end also hang over his face. We said to Abd al-Razzaq: And how? He said: Ma'mar showed us like this: he placed the end of the turban and let it hang over his face, then he folded back what hung over the face toward the throat, then he placed the turban over what hung over the face, folding it back under the chin, then he twisted it around his head, then he brought the end of the turban back onto his forehead, then he let what remained of it hang over his face as well.
