✧ Washing the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ قَالَ:
نَزَلَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ حِينَ حَضَرَ آدَمَ الْوَفَاةُ، فَلَمَّا رَآهُمْ عَرَفَهُمْ، فَقَبَضُوهُ وَغَسَّلُوهُ وَكَفَّنُوهُ وَصَلَّوْا عَلَيْهِ وَدَفَنُوهُ، وَبَنُوهُ يَنْظُرُونَ
Translation
✧ The angels descended when death came to Adam. When he saw them, he recognized them, so they took his soul, washed him, shrouded him, prayed over him, and buried him while his sons looked on.
