✧ Washing the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ

قَالَ فِي غُسْلِ الْمَيِّتِ: الْأُولَى بِمَاءٍ قَرَاحٍ، وَيُوَضِّئُهُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ، وَالثَّانِيَةُ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَالثَّالِثَةُ بِمَاءٍ قَرَاحٍ، وَيَتَتَبَّعُ مَسَاجِدَهُ بِالطِّيبِ

Translation

✧ He said regarding the washing of the dead: The first is with pure water, and he performs ablution on him as for prayer. The second is with water and lote-tree leaves, and the third is with pure water. He should follow the places of prostration with perfume.
