✧ Washing the deceased

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ:

يُغَسَّلُ الْمَيِّتُ وِتْرًا؛ ثَلَاثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا، كُلُّهُنَّ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، فِي كُلِّ غَسْلَةٍ يُغْسَلُ رَأْسُهُ مَعَ سَائِرِ جَسَدِهِ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَتُجْزِئُ وَاحِدَةٌ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، إِنْ أَنْقَوْهُ

Translation

✧ The deceased is washed an odd number of times: three, five, or seven, all with water and sidr, and in each washing his head is washed with the rest of his body." He said: I said: "Is one washing sufficient?" He said: "Yes, if they clean him."
