✧ Washing a person when death approaches him, and turning the deceased toward the Qibla

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُ الشَّعْبِيَّ عَنِ الْمَيِّتِ يُوَجَّهُ لِلْقِبْلَةِ ؟ قَالَ: " إِنْ شِئْتَ فَوَجِّهْ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَلَا تُوَجِّهْ، لَكِنِ اجْعَلِ الْقَبْرَ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ، قَبْرُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَقَبْرُ عُمَرَ وَقَبْرُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ
Translation
✧ I asked al-Shaʿbī about the deceased being turned toward the Qibla. He said: If you wish, turn him, and if you wish, do not turn him; but make the grave face the Qibla. The grave of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the grave of ʿUmar, and the grave of Abū Bakr are toward the Qibla.
