✧ Washing a person when death approaches him, and turning the deceased toward the Qibla

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ:

أَرَأَيْتَ حُرُوفَ الْمَيِّتِ إِلَى الْقِبْلَةِ حِينَ يَحِينُ فَوْضُهُ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ، أَسُنَّةٌ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: " سُبْحَانَ اللهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يَعْقِلُ تَرَكَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ مَيِّتِهِ، وَاللهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيُحْمَلُ فِرَاشُهُ حَتَّى يُحَرَّفَ بِهِ إِذَا لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ ذَلِكَ

Translation

✧ Have you considered turning the dying person's face toward the Qibla when his death is imminent, on his right side—is that a sunnah? He said: Glory be to Allah, I know of no one who understands that he would leave that for his dying person. By Allah, a man's bed would be moved until he is turned, if he is unable to do that himself.
