عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ
أَنَّ رَجُلَيْنِ فِيمَا مَضَى كَانَ يَلْزَمُ أَحَدُهُمَا ﴿تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ ﴾، فَجَادَلَتْ عَنْهُ حَتَّى نَجَا، وَأَمَّا صَاحِبُ السَّجْدَةِ الصُّغْرَى فَانْقَسَمَتْ فِي قَبْرِهِ قِسْمَيْنِ: قِسْمٌ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ، وَقِسْمٌ عِنْدَ رِجْلَيْهِ حَتَّى نَجَا، فَسُمِّيَتِ الْمُنْقَسِمَةَ
Translation
✧ There were two men in the past, one of whom used to adhere to 'Blessed is He in whose hand is the dominion' (Surat al-Mulk), and it argued on his behalf until he was saved. As for the companion of the small prostration (i.e., a surah ending with a prostration), it split into two parts in his grave: one part at his head and one part at his feet, until he was saved. So it was named al-Munqasimah (the Divider).
