عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، وَغَيْرِهِ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، وَشُتَيْرِ بْنِ شَكَلٍ الْعَبْسِيِّ، قَالَا:
جَلَسْنَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَثَابَ إِلَيْهِمَا، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا لِصَاحِبِهِ: إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَقْدَمْ إِلَيْنَا إِلَّا أَنَّا لِنُحَدِّثَهُمْ، فَإِمَّا أَنْ تُحَدِّثَهُمْ فَأُصَدِّقَكَ، وَإِمَّا أَنْ أُحَدِّثَهُمْ وَتُصَدِّقَنِي، فَقَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ يَقُولُ: أَعْظَمُ آيَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ آيَةُ الْكُرْسِيِّ، قَالَ الْآخَرُ: صَدَقْتَ، قَالَ الْآخَرُ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ يَقُولُ: " أَجْمَعُ آيَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ ﴿إِنَّ اللهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالإِحْسَانِ ﴾قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ، وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " أَشَدُّ آيَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ تَفْوِيضًا ﴿وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا ﴾قَالَ: قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ، قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: " أَكْبَرُ آيَةٍ فِي الْقُرْآنِ فَرَجًا ﴿يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ ﴾قَالَ: صَدَقْتَ
Translation
✧ We sat in the mosque and they came to us. One of them said to his companion: He has not come to us except that we should narrate to them. Either you narrate to them and I confirm you, or I narrate to them and you confirm me. One of them said: I heard 'Abd Allah say: The greatest verse in the Quran is the Verse of the Throne. The other said: You have spoken truth. The other said: I heard 'Abd Allah say: The most comprehensive verse in the Quran is (Indeed, God commands justice and excellence). He said: You have spoken truth. And I heard him say: The verse in the Quran that gives most trust in God is (Whoever fears God, He will make a way out for him). He said: He said: You have spoken truth. He said: And I heard him say: The verse in the Quran with the greatest hope of relief is (O My servants who have transgressed against themselves). He said: You have spoken truth.
