عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي حُسَيْنٍ يَقُولُ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ:
إِنَّ اللهَ اخْتَارَ الْكَلَامَ، فَاخْتَارَ الْقُرْآنَ، فَاخْتَارَ مِنْهُ سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ، وَاخْتَارَ مِنْ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ آيَةَ الْكُرْسِيِّ، وَاخْتَارَ الْبِلَادَ فَاخْتَارَ الْحَرَمَ، وَاخْتَارَ الْحَرَمَ فَاخْتَارَ الْمَسْجِدَ، وَاخْتَارَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَاخْتَارَ مَوْضِعَ الْبَيْتِ
Translation
✧ Allah chose speech, and He chose the Qur'an; from it He chose Surah al-Baqarah; from Surah al-Baqarah He chose the Throne Verse. He chose the lands and chose the Sanctuary; He chose the Sanctuary and chose the Mosque; He chose the Mosque and chose the site of the House.
