✧ Keeping watch over the Quran and forgetting it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، أَوْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ وَحْشِيٌّ، لَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا، وَلَا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِنِّي نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ
Translation
✧ Keep watch over the Quran, for it is wild; it slips away faster than camels from their hobbles. None of you should say: "I forgot such-and-such a verse." Rather, he was made to forget.
