✧ Keeping watch over the Quran and forgetting it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، رَفَعَهُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:
تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ، فَإِنَّهُ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صَدْرِ الرَّجُلِ مِنَ النَّعَمِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا، بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ: إِنِّي نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ، بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ
Translation
✧ Keep watch over the Quran, for it slips away from a man's chest faster than camels from their hobbles. How bad it is for one of you to say: "I forgot such-and-such a verse." Rather, he was made to forget.
