✧ The prostration incumbent on one who hears it

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَوَاجِبٌ السُّجُودُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ؟ فَقَالَ: " لَا "، فَقَالَ: " إِذَا كَانَ وَاجِبًا عَلَيْكَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَجَبَ عَلَيْكَ فِي الْقِرَاءَةِ "، قُلْتُ: أَيُّهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيْكَ ؟ قَالَ: " السُّجُودُ
Translation
✧ I said to 'Ata': Is the prostration obligatory in prayer? He said: "No." Then he said: "If it were obligatory upon you in prayer, it would be obligatory upon you in recitation." I said: Which is more beloved to you? He said: "The prostration."
