عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَبْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
ذَاكَرْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ يَوْمَ نُزُولِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، عَنِ الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَقَوْلَهُ: يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي نَسِيتُ السِّوَاكَ، فَنَزَلَ فَاسْتَنَّ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: أَمَا إِنَّ مِنَ السُّنَّةِ فِي السِّوَاكِ يَوْمَ الْعِيدِ كَهَيْئَتِهِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ
Translation
✧ I mentioned to Umar b. Abd al-Aziz the day Uthman b. Affan descended from the pulpit on Friday and his saying: 'O people, I forgot the tooth-stick.' So he descended and cleaned his teeth, then returned to the pulpit. Umar said: 'Indeed, part of the sunnah regarding the tooth-stick on the day of Eid is like its status on Friday.'
