✧ Eating before the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ:
كَانَ يُؤْمَرُ الْإِنْسَانُ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ الْإِمَامُ إِلَى الْمُصَلَّى. قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ: فَكَانَ الزُّهْرِيُّ يَأْكُلُ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْدُوَ، وَلَا يَأْكُلُ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ حَتَّى يَنْحَرُوا
Translation
✧ A person used to be instructed to eat on the day of Fitr before the Imam went out to the prayer place. Ma'mar said: Al-Zuhri used to eat on the day of Fitr before going out in the morning, and he did not eat on the day of Sacrifice until they had slaughtered.
