Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq 5743

✧ Recitation in the prayer on the day of Eid

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ " يَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَ ﴿سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى ﴾، وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ بِفَاتِحَةِ الْكِتَابِ وَ ﴿هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ ﴾

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the two Eids: in the first rakʿah the Fātiḥat al-Kitāb and “Sabbiḥ isma rabbika al-aʿlā” (Q 87), and in the second the Fātiḥat al-Kitāb and “Hal atāka ḥadīthu al-ghāshiyah” (Q 88).
