✧ Prayer before the imam comes out and after the khutbah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ يَقُولُ:
خَرَجَ عَلِيٌّ يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَوَجَدَ النَّاسَ يُصَلُّونَ قَبْلَ خُرُوجِهِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: لَوْ نَهَيْتَهُمْ، فَقَالَ: " مَا أَنَا بِالَّذِي أَنْهَى عَبْدًا إِنْ صَلَّاهَا، وَلَكِنْ سَأُخْبِرُكُمْ بِمَا شَهِدْنَا، أَوْ قَالَ: بِمَا حَضَرْنَا
Translation
✧ Ali went out on the day of Eid and found the people praying before he came out. It was said to him: "If only you would forbid them." He said: "I am not one to forbid a servant if he prays it, but I will tell you what we witnessed," or he said, "what we attended."
