عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ:
أَبْصَرَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَجُلًا عَلَيْهِ أُهْبَةُ السَّفَرِ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ: إِنَّ الْيَوْمَ يَوْمُ جُمُعَةٍ، وَلَوْلَا ذَلِكَ لَخَرَجْتُ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: إِنَّ الْجُمُعَةَ لَا تَحْبِسُ مُسَافِرًا، فَاخْرُجْ مَا لَمْ يَحِنِ الرَّوَاحُ
Translation
✧ ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb saw a man with traveling gear, and the man said: Today is Friday, and were it not for that I would have set out. ʿUmar said: The Friday prayer does not hold back a traveler, so go out as long as the time for going has not come.
