✧ Whoever misses the khutbah

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قَالَ إِنْسَانٌ لِعَطَاءٍ: لَمْ أُدْرِكِ الْخُطْبَةَ إِلَّا وَهُوَ فِي الْمِكْيَالِ وَالْمِيزَانِ ؟ قَالَ: " قَدْ أَمَرَ اللهُ بِذَلِكَ، فَذَلِكَ مِنَ الذِّكْرِ، فَاقْصُرْ
Translation
✧ A man said to 'Ata': I did not catch the khutbah except when he was discussing the measure and the balance. He said: "God has commanded that, so that is part of the remembrance; so shorten."
