عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:
بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ عَلِيًّا مَرَّ بِقَاصٍّ، فَقَالَ: " أَتَعْرِفُ النَّاسِخَ مِنَ الْمَنْسُوخِ ؟ قَالَ: لَا قَالَ: " هَلَكْتَ وَأَهْلَكْتَ " قَالَ: وَمَرَّ بِآخَرَ قَالَ: " مَا كُنْيَتُكَ ؟ " قَالَ: أَبُو يَحْيَى قَالَ: " بَلْ أَنْتَ أَبُو اعْرِفُونِي
Translation
✧ It reached me that 'Ali passed by a storyteller and said: "Do you know the abrogating from the abrogated?" He said: No. He said: "You have perished and caused others to perish." He said: And he passed by another and said: "What is your kunyah?" He said: Abu Yahya. He said: "Rather, you are Abu 'Irifuni."
