عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: فَقَصَصُ الْقَاصِّ هَذَا غَيْرُ خُطْبَةِ الْإِمَامِ فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ أَأَذْكُرُ اللهَ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُهُ وَأَعْقِلُهُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، وَاجْلِسْ مَعَهُ مَا شِئْتَ وَقُمْ إِذَا شِئْتَ وَارْفَعْ صَوْتَكَ بِبَعْضِ الذِّكْرِ "، قُلْتُ: فَعَطَسَ إِنْسَانٌ فَحَمِدَ، شَمَّتُّهُ ؟ قَالَ: " أَيْ لَعَمْرِي " قُلْتُ: أَفَنُحَدِّثُ أَنَا وَإِنْسَانٌ وَنَحْنُ نَسْمَعُهُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ، وَأَنْ تُسَبِّحَ وَتَذْكُرَ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ
Translation

✧ I said to 'Ata': What about this storyteller's narrating, other than the imam's sermon on Friday—may I remember Allah while I hear him and understand? He said: "Yes, and sit with him as long as you wish, and stand when you wish, and raise your voice with some remembrance." I said: What if someone sneezes and praises Allah—should I say 'yarhamuk Allah' to him? He said: "Yes, by my life." I said: May I and another person talk while we are listening to him? He said: "Yes, but for you to glorify Allah and remember Him is dearer to me."
