Translation

✧ I said to 'Ata': May I glorify and declare tahlil on Friday while I understand the sermon? He said: "No, except something small, and keep it between you and yourself." It was said to him: May a person remember God while the imam is delivering the sermon on the day of 'Arafah or the day of Fitr, and he understands the words of the imam? He said: "No, all of that is an 'eid, so do not speak unless the imam goes into other than the remembrance of God."
