عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، وَالثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ قَالَ:
كَانَتِ الْمَسَاجِدُ تُبْنَى جُمًّا، وَكَانَتِ الْمَدَائِنُ تُشَرَّفُ
Translation
✧ The mosques used to be built plainly, and the cities used to have battlements.
