عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ،
أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، " أَمَرَ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ أَنْ يَؤُمَّ النِّسَاءَ فِي مُؤَخَّرِ الْمَسْجِدِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ "، قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: وَأَصْحَابُنَا يَكْرَهُونَ ذَلِكَ، وَيَقُولُونَ: أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ أَحْدَثَ فَمَنْ يُقَدِّمُ ؟ وَيَقُولُونَ: التَّطَوُّعُ أَيْسَرُ
Translation
✧ 'Umar b. al-Khattab ordered Sulayman b. Abi Hathmah to lead the women in prayer at the rear of the mosque during the month of Ramadan. Sufyan said: Our companions dislike that, and they say: Consider, if he loses his ritual purity, who will step forward? And they say: Voluntary prayer is easier.
