عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ،
أَنَّ عَاتِكَةَ بِنْتَ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ نُفَيْلٍ، وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ وَكَانَتْ تَشْهَدُ الصَّلَاةَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، وَكَانَ عُمَرُ يَقُولُ لَهَا: " وَاللهِ إِنَّكِ لَتَعْلَمِينَ مَا أُحِبُّ هَذَا "، فَقَالَتْ: وَاللهِ لَا أَنْتَهِي حَتَّى تَنْهَانِي قَالَ: " إِنِّي لَا أَنْهَاكِ " قَالَتْ: فَلَقَدْ طُعِنَ عُمَرُ يَوْمَ طُعِنَ، وَإِنَّهَا لَفِي الْمَسْجِدِ
Translation
✧ 'Atikah bt. Zayd b. 'Amr b. Nufayl, who was married to 'Umar b. al-Khattab, used to attend the prayer in the mosque. 'Umar would say to her: "By Allah, you know that I do not like this." She said: By Allah, I will not stop unless you forbid me. He said: "I will not forbid you." She said: When 'Umar was stabbed on the day he was stabbed, she was in the mosque.
