عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ هُشَيْمٍ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، سَمَّاهُ قَالَ: أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ: سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ
أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ صَلَّى الْغَدَاةَ فَلَمْ يَقْنُتْ ". وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُجَالِدِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، وَالْأَسْوَدِ، قَالَا: مَا قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ إِلَّا إِذَا حَارَبَ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلِّهِنَّ، وَلَا قَنَتَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَلَا عُمَرُ وَلَا عُثْمَانُ حَتَّى مَاتُوا، حَتَّى لَا قَنَتَ عَلِيٌّ حَتَّى حَارَبَ أَهْلَ الشَّامِ، فَكَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي الصَّلَوَاتِ كُلِّهِنَّ، وَكَانَ مُعَاوِيَةُ يَقْنُتُ أَيْضًا فَيَدْعُو كُلُّ وَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمَا عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ "
Translation
✧ Ibn Abbas prayed the morning prayer and did not perform qunut." And Ibn al-Mujalid said, from his father, from Ibrahim, from Alqamah and al-Aswad, they said: The Messenger of God ﷺ did not perform qunut in any of the prayers except when he fought a war, for he would perform qunut in all the prayers. Neither Abu Bakr nor Umar nor Uthman performed qunut until they died, and Ali did not perform qunut until he fought the people of Syria, then he would perform qunut in all the prayers. Muawiyah also performed qunut, and each of them would supplicate against the other."
