✧ Ablution After Using Depilatory

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: رَجُلٌ اطَّلَى بِنَوْرَةٍ هَلْ عَلَيْهِ وُضُوءٌ ؟ قَالَ: أَوَلَيْسَ مُغْتَسِلًا ؟ قَالَ: وَلَا بُدَّ لَهُ أَنْ يَمَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ - هُوَ الْقَائِلُ - قَالَ: قُلْتُ: فَطَلَى سَاقَيْهِ مِنْ وَجَعٍ بِهِمَا وَهُوَ مُتَوَضِّئٌ أَيُعِيدُ الْوُضُوءَ ؟ قَالَ: لَيْسَتِ النَّوْرَةُ بِحَدَثٍ
Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: A man applies depilatory paste—is wudu incumbent on him? He said: Is he not taking a bath? He said: And he must inevitably touch his penis—he was the one who said that. He said: I said: What if he applied it to his shins due to pain in them, while he was in a state of wudu—does he repeat the wudu? He said: Depilatory paste is not a ritual impurity.
