عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: حُدِّثْتُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ:
حَضَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ فَاشْتَكَى إِلَيْهِ الْجَدْبَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ فَاسْتَسْقَى، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ كَلَامَهُ، فَالْتَبَسَتِ السَّمَاءُ سَحَابًا فَأُمْطِرَ حَتَّى الْجُمُعَةِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: أَيْ رَسُولَ اللهِ، غَرِقْنَا، وَهَلَكَتِ الْمَاشِيَةُ، وَلَا يَخْرُجُ الْمُسَافِرُ، فَضَحِكَ، ثُمَّ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا قَالَ فَرَأَيْتُهُ حِينَ يَنْجَابُ السَّحَابُ عَنِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَيَتَفَرَّقُ، حَتَّى أَنَا مِنْهُ لَفِي جَوْبَةٍ
Translation
✧ I was present with the Prophet ﷺ when a man came to him and complained of drought while he was on the pulpit, and he prayed for rain—he did not mention his words. The sky became overcast with clouds, and it rained until the following Friday. It was said to him, 'O Messenger of God, we are drowning, the livestock have perished, and the traveler cannot go out.' He smiled, then said, 'O God, around us and not upon us.' He said: I saw him when the clouds were clearing away from Madinah and dispersing, until I was in an open space.
