عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ
أَنَّ رَجُلًا بَيْنَا هُوَ يَسْقِي زَرْعًا إِذْ رَأَى عَنَانَةً تَرَهْيَأُ فِيهَا صَوْتٌ: أَنِ اسْقِ أَرْضَ فُلَانٍ، فَاتَّبَعَ الصَّوْتَ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي سُمِّيَتْ، فَسَأَلَ صَاحِبَهَا: مَا عَمَلُكَ فِيهَا ؟ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي أُعِيدُ فِيهَا ثُلُثًا، وَأَتَصَدَّقُ بِثُلُثٍ، وَأَحْتَبِسُ لِأَهْلِي ثُلُثًا
Translation
✧ A man, while he was watering a crop, saw a cloud with a voice in it: 'Water the land of so-and-so.' He followed the voice until he reached the land that was named, and he asked its owner: What is your practice regarding it? He said: I restore a third of it, give a third in charity, and withhold a third for my family.
