✧ How to Give the Taslim in Witr

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَفْصِلُ بَيْنِ الْوِتْرِ وَبَيْنِ مَا قَبْلَهُ بِتَسْلِيمٍ ؟ قَالَ: " كَأَنَّكُمْ أَعْرَابٌ، أَوَلَسْتَ تُسَلِّمُ تَسْلِيمَ الْفِرَاقِ، كُلُّ شَيْءٍ فَهُوَ يَكْفِيكَ، فَإِنْ شِئْتَ فَصَلِّ مِائَةَ رَكْعَةٍ، أَوْ فَلَا تَفْصِلْ بَيْنَ الْوِتْرِ وَبَيْنَ مَا قَبْلَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ " قَالَ: قُلْتُ: وَالْإِمَامُ أَيْضًا كَذَلِكَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ
Translation
Chain of narrators
machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from Ibn Jurayj, who said:
✧ I said to 'Ata': 'Should I separate between witr and what precedes it with a taslim?' He said: 'It is as if you are Bedouins. Do you not give the taslim of departure? Everything suffices you. If you wish, pray a hundred rak'ahs, or do not separate between witr and what precedes it of bowing.' He said: I said: 'And is the imam also like that in the month of Ramadan?' He said: 'Yes.'
