✧ How Many Rak'ahs Is the Witr

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ أَنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ الثَّقَفِيَّ، أَخْبَرَهُ
أَنَّ عُمَرَ لَمَّا دَفَنَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَفَرَغَ مِنْهُ، وَقَدْ كَانَ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثِ رَكَعَاتٍ، وَأَوْتَرَ مَعَهُ نَاسٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
Translation
✧ When Umar had buried Abu Bakr and finished with him, he had prayed the last Isha prayer and then performed the witr with three rak'ahs, and some Muslims performed the witr with him.
