عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ:
سَأَلْتُهُ - وَكَانَ يَبِيتُ عِنْدَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ - مَتَى كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يُوتِرُ ؟ قَالَ: كَانَ يُوتِرُ حِينَ يَبْقَى عَلَيْهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ مِثْلُ مَا ذَهَبَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ حِينَ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ قَالَ: وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ أَهْلُ الدَّارِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ
Translation
✧ I asked him — and he was spending the night at the home of Abdullah b. Mas'ud — when did Abdullah pray witr? He said: He used to pray witr when there remained of the night the same amount as had passed of the night when he prayed maghrib. He said: And Abdullah's recitation could be heard by the people of the house during the night.
