عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، وَابْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى عَقِيلٍ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، فَقُلْتُ:
حَدِّثْنِي كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ ؟ فَسَكَتَ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ الثَّانِيَةَ فَسَكَتَ، ثُمَّ سَأَلْتُهُ الثَّالِثَةَ، فَقَالَ: إِنْ شِئْتَ حَدَّثْتُكَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ " أَمَّا أَنَا فَأُوتِرُهَا هُنَا بِخَمْسٍ، ثُمَّ أَرْجِعُ فَأَرْقُدُ، فَإِنِ اسْتَيْقَظْتُ صَلَّيْتُ شَفْعًا حَتَّى أُصْبِحَ
Translation
✧ Tell me how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform witr. He remained silent. I asked him a second time and he remained silent. I asked him a third time, and he said: If you wish, I will tell you on the authority of Abu Hurayrah. As for me, I perform it here with five, then I return and sleep, and if I wake I pray pairs until morning.
