عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدِ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ، أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ رُوَيْمٍ حَدَّثَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:
خِيَارُ أُمَّتِي مَنْ شَهِدَ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا أَحْسَنُوا اسْتَبْشَرُوا، وَإِذَا أَسَاءُوا اسْتَغْفَرُوا، وَإِذَا سَافَرُوا قَصَرُوا وَأَفْطَرُوا، وَشِرَارُ أُمَّتِي الَّذِينَ وُلِدُوا فِي النَّعِيمِ وَغُذُّوا بِهِ، هِمَّتُهُمْ - أَوْ قَالَ مُهِمَّتُهُمْ - لَيِّنُ الثِّيَابِ، طَيِّبُ الطَّعَامِ، وَالْفُسُوقُ فِي الْكَلَامِ
Translation
✧ The best of my community are those who bear witness that there is no god but Allah, alone without partner, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger; those who, when they do good, rejoice, and when they do evil, seek forgiveness; and when they travel, they shorten the prayer and break the fast. The worst of my community are those who were born in luxury and nourished by it; their concern—or he said: their preoccupation—is soft clothing, delicious food, and wickedness in speech.
