✧ At what distance may prayer be shortened

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ:
إِذَا خَرَجْتَ فَبِتَّ فِي غَيْرِ أَهْلِكَ فَاقْصُرْ، فَإِنْ أَتَيْتَ إِلَى أَهْلِكَ فَأَتْمِمْ
Translation
✧ When you go out and spend the night away from your family, then shorten; but when you come to your family, then complete.
