عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ،
أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ أَدْنَى مَا يَقْصُرُ الصَّلَاةَ إِلَيْهِ مَالٌ لَهُ يُطَالِعُهُ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ، وَهِيَ مَسِيرَةُ ثَلَاثَةِ قَوَاصِدَ، لَمْ يَكُنْ يَقْصُرُ فِيمَا دُونَهُ "، قُلْتُ: وَكَمْ خَيْبَرُ ؟ قَالَ: " ثَلَاثُ قَوَاصِدَ "، قُلْتُ: فَالطَّائِفُ ؟ قَالَ: " نَعِمٌ مِنَ السِّهْلَةِ وَأَنْفَسُ قَلِيلًا
Translation
✧ Ibn Umar used to shorten the prayer at the nearest point he considered for it: a property of his that he inspected from Khaybar, which is a journey of three moderate marches. He would not shorten for anything less than that. I said, 'How far is Khaybar?' He said, 'Three moderate marches.' I said, 'And al-Ta'if?' He said, 'Yes, it is on the easy route and a little farther.'
