عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ قَالَ:
كَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ حَسَنَ الصَّوْتِ، فَخَرَجَ لَيْلَةً يُصَلِّي فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَجَهَرَ بِصَوْتِهِ، فَاجْتَمَعَ النَّاسُ، فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ: " فَتَنْتَ النَّاسَ "، فَلَمْ يَعُدْ لِذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ Umar b. Abd al-Aziz had a beautiful voice. He went out one night to pray in the mosque and raised his voice, so the people gathered. Sa'id b. al-Musayyib sent word to him: 'You have beguiled the people.' He did not do that again.
