✧ Touching the Armpit

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ قَالَ:
مَنْ مَسَّ إِبْطَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ قَالَ: وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا مِنْهُ قَالَ: وَإِنَّا نُحَدِّثُ النَّاسَ بِالْوُضُوءِ مِنْ مَسِّ الْفَرْجِ فَمَا يُصَدِّقُونَا فَكَيْفَ إِذَا حَدَّثْنَا بِمَسِّ الْإِبْطِ
Translation
✧ Whoever touches his armpit should perform wuḍūʾ. He said, 'I have not heard this ḥadīth except from him.' He said, 'We tell people about performing wuḍūʾ after touching the private part, and they do not believe us. How would it be if we told them about touching the armpit?'
