عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ قَالَ:
أَتَيْتُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أَطْلُبُهُ فِي دَارِهِ، فَقِيلَ: هُوَ عِنْدَ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ، فَأَتَيْتُهُ فَإِذَا عَبْدُ اللهِ، وَحُذَيْفَةُ، فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ لِحُذَيْفَةَ: أَنْتَ صَاحِبُ الْكَلَامِ ؟ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ: إِي وَاللهِ، لَقَدْ قُلْتُ ذَلِكَ كَرِهْتُ أَنْ يُقَالَ: فُلَانٌ وَقَرَأَهُ فُلَانٌ كَمَا تَفَرَّقَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ قَالَ: فَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَتَقَدَّمَ أَبُو مُوسَى، فَأَمَّهُمْ لِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا فِي دَارِهِ
Translation
✧ I went looking for Ibn Masud at his house and was told, "He is at Abu Musa al-Ashari's." I went there and found Abdullah and Hudhayfah. Abdullah said to Hudhayfah: "Are you the one who made that statement?" Hudhayfah said: "Yes, by God, I said it because I disliked that it be said, 'So-and-so recited and so-and-so recited,' as the Children of Israel became divided." Then the prayer was called, and Abu Musa stepped forward and led them because they were in his house.
