✧ The imam's shortening of the prayer

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ قَالَ:

عُدْنَا أَبَا وَاقِدٍ الْبَكْرِيَّ فِي وَجَعِهِ الَّذِي مَاتَ فِيهِ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَخَفَّ صَلَاةً عَلَى النَّاسِ وَأَطْوَلَ النَّاسِ صَلَاةً لِنَفْسِهِ

Translation

✧ We visited Abu Waqid al-Bakri during the illness in which he died, and I heard him say: The Messenger of God ﷺ was the lightest in prayer upon the people and the longest of people in prayer for himself.
