✧ Wiping the Ears

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

الْأُذُنَانِ لَيْسَتَا مِنَ الْوَجْهِ، وَلَيْسَتَا مِنَ الرَّأْسِ، وَلَوْ كَانَتَا مِنَ الرَّأْسِ لَكَانَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُحْلَقَ مَا عَلَيْهَا مِنَ الشَّعَرِ، وَلَوْ كَانَتَا مِنَ الْوَجْهِ لَكَانَ يَنْبَغِي أَنْ يُغْسَلَ ظُهُورُهُمَا وَبُطُونُهُمَا مَعَ الْوَجْهِ

Translation

✧ The ears are not part of the face, and they are not part of the head. If they were part of the head, it would be appropriate to shave the hair on them. And if they were part of the face, it would be appropriate to wash their backs and their fronts along with the face.
