machine translationʿAbd al-Razzāq, from al-Thawrī

✧ Concerning a man who stood up and recited, then bowed, then prostrated one prostration, then stood and recited, then bowed, then remembered while he was prostrating that he had not prostrated in the first rak'ah except one prostration. He said: 'He should not count this rak'ah in which he remembered while prostrating, but he should raise his head and prostrate the missed prostration, and prostrate the two prostrations of the rak'ah he is in, then prostrate the two prostrations of forgetfulness when he finishes his prayer.' He said: 'If he remembers after he has prostrated one prostration, he counts it, then prostrates his missed prostration, then prostates another one to his first prostration. If he remembers while standing, he prostrates, then returns standing to where he was in his recitation. If a man forgets the bowing, he does not count his prostration, and he makes up the bowing and prostration anew.'
