✧ Leftover Water of a Cat

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ امْرَأَةٍ، عَنْ أُمِّهَا، وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ - أَنَّ أُمَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهَا،
أَنَّ أَبَا قَتَادَةَ زَارَهُمْ فَسَكَبُوا لَهُ وَضُوءًا فَدَنَتْ مِنْهُ هِرَّةٌ فَأَصْغَى إِلَيْهَا الْإِنَاءَ الَّذِي فِيهِ وَضُوؤُهُ فَشَرِبَتْ مِنْهُ، ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأَ بِفَضْلِهَا فَعَجِبُوا مِنْ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ: إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: إِنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ بِنَجَسٍ، إِنَّهَا مِنَ الطَّوَّافِينَ عَلَيْكُمْ
Translation
✧ Abu Qatadah visited them, so they poured water for his ablution. A cat came near him, and he tilted toward it the vessel containing his ablution water, and it drank from it. Then he performed ablution with the leftover water, and they were surprised at that. Abu Qatadah said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'It is not impure; it is one of those that frequent you.'"
