Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq 3396

✧ Drowsiness until one misses part of the prayer

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ وَأَنَا مَعَ النَّاسِ فَكَبَّرَ الْإِمَامُ وَرَفَعَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَةِ، وَلَمْ أُكَبِّرْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَالَ: " إِنْ كُنْتَ قَدِ اعْتَدَلْتَ فِي الصَّفِّ فَاعْتَدَّ بِهَا، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَمْ تَزَلْ تُحْدِثُ حَتَّى تَرْكَعَ، وَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنْ رَكْعَتِهِ، فَكَبِّرْ ثُمَّ ارْفَعْ، وَاعْتَدَّ بِهَا، وَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَمْ تَعْتَدِلْ فِي الصَّفِّ فَلَا

Translation

✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: The prayer was established while I was with the people, and the imam said the takbir and raised from the rak’ah, and I did not say the takbir in that. He said: “If you had straightened yourself in the row, then count it, and if you had not ceased moving until he bowed and raised his head from his rak’ah, then say the takbir, then rise, and count it, and if you had not straightened yourself in the row, then no.”
