Translation

✧ Some people from Banu Mudlij asked the Messenger of God ﷺ: We ride rafts of ours, and one of us carries a little water for his lips. If we perform wudu with sea water, we feel uneasy within ourselves, and if we perform wudu with it, we become thirsty. The Prophet ﷺ said: It is the purifier; its water is purifying, its dead animals are lawful.
