✧ One Who Has Witr While the Imam Has Shaf'

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ الثَّوْرِيِّ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ:
كَانَ النَّاسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا جَاءَ الرَّجُلُ وَقَدْ فَاتَهُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ، أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ النَّاسُ فَصَلَّى مَا فَاتَهُ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ، حَتَّى جَاءَ يَوْمًا مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، فَأَشَارُوا إِلَيْهِ فَدَخَلَ، وَلَمْ يَنْتَظِرْ مَا قَالُوا، فَلَمَّا صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: سَنَّ لَكُمْ مُعَاذٌ
Translation
✧ In the time of the Messenger of God ﷺ, when a man came and had missed something of the prayer, the people gestured to him, so he prayed what he had missed and then entered the prayer, until one day Muʿādh b. Jabal came. They gestured to him, but he entered and did not wait for what they said. When the Prophet ﷺ had prayed, they mentioned that to him, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: "Muʿādh has established a practice for you."
