✧ A Lizard Dying in Fat

عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ:
قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: الْوَزَغُ يَمُوتُ فِي الْوَدَكِ، السَّمْنِ وَالدُّهْنِ وَأَشْبَاهِ هَذَا، بِمَنْزِلَةِ الْفَأْرَةِ هُوَ فِي ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: وَأَحَبُّ.
Translation
✧ I said to ʿAṭāʾ: A gecko dying in rendered fat, butter, oil, and the like—is it in the same rank as a mouse in that? He said: And more beloved [to avoid].
