Translation
✧ Samura used to lead the people in prayer, pausing twice: when he said the takbir for the prayer, and when he finished reciting the Qur'an. The people criticized that about him, so he wrote to Ubayy b. Ka'b concerning that: 'The people have criticized me; perhaps I forgot and they remembered, or I remembered and they forgot.' Ubayy wrote back to him: 'Rather, you remembered and they forgot.'
